TrustScanner Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
TrustScanner is a document scanner that lets you black out parts of a page before you share it. This policy says what the app does with your information. The short version: your documents are processed on your device, and we do not collect them.
Who is responsible
Rheaapps (Anoop Vijayan), India. Contact: support@rheaapps.com.
What we collect
Nothing. TrustScanner has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not receive your documents, scans, text, location or any identifier. We do not run a server for the app.
How your scans and images are handled
- Taking the picture. The pictures are taken by the document scanner built into iOS (Apple's VisionKit). That component belongs to Apple and runs under iOS, so Apple's terms and privacy information apply to it, and TrustScanner cannot control how iOS handles the camera.
- Working on the pages. TrustScanner receives the pages on your device, reduces their size and keeps them in the app's memory while you work. Location and other details stored in the original photo are not carried into the PDF the app creates.
- Finding sensitive text. The search for text that looks sensitive runs on your device. The app keeps only where words are on the page, not the text itself.
- Not saved. Pages are not saved to your photo library, the clipboard or any document store, and they are not sent anywhere by the app. They are cleared when you finish or close the document.
- Leaving the app. When you switch away, the screen is covered so the app-switcher preview does not show your document.
- Creating the PDF. When you choose Share, the app creates a PDF with your black marks burned into the image. This PDF is stored as a temporary file that is not included in device backups. It is deleted when the share sheet closes, whether you complete or cancel, and any left-over file is removed the next time the app starts.
- Sharing. What happens to the PDF after you choose a recipient is covered in the next section.
Sharing is your choice and your responsibility
TrustScanner does not send your document anywhere. Sharing happens only when you tap Share and then choose a recipient in the iOS share sheet (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Files, a cloud service, a printer, or anything else on your device).
- The PDF leaves the app. Once you choose a recipient, the PDF is controlled by that app, service or person. They handle it under their own terms and privacy policy, not this one.
- No control or visibility. TrustScanner does not see where you send the PDF, cannot recall, delete or restrict it afterwards, and cannot know who opens, copies or forwards it.
- Your decision. You decide whether to share, what to share and with whom. You are responsible for having the right to share the document and for checking that the recipient is entitled and trustworthy to receive it.
- Your content. You are responsible for what the PDF contains. The app blacks out only the areas you mark or accept. Anything you leave unmarked is shared exactly as scanned.
- Check before you share. Review every page, at full size, before you share. Share only what the recipient needs.
No guarantee of complete redaction
The search for text that looks sensitive is an aid, not a check. It can miss information, mislabel it or mark the wrong place, and it does not understand your document, your recipient or the law. Poor lighting, handwriting, unusual layouts, small print, other languages, photos, signatures, barcodes and QR codes can all be missed. The app does not guarantee that a document is free of personal or confidential information.
Marks you place are burned into the image pixels of the exported PDF, so the covered area cannot be recovered from the file. That applies only to the areas you covered. It does not apply to anything left visible, and it does not apply to copies of the original you keep elsewhere, such as in your photo library or another app.
Not professional advice
TrustScanner is a general-purpose tool. It does not give legal, tax, financial or compliance advice, and it does not decide whether you may or must disclose, redact or withhold any information in any situation.
Limits of this policy
This policy describes how TrustScanner itself handles information. It does not cover apps, services, websites or people you send a PDF to, or Apple's services. Nothing in this policy limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, including liability for intent or gross negligence and your statutory consumer rights.
What is stored on your device
- A small counter of how many free documents you have used, kept in the iOS Keychain. It holds one number and nothing about any document.
- A few settings and flags (for example that you saw the introduction, which version of the Terms of Use you agreed to and the date, and when the app last asked for a rating). They hold nothing about your documents.
Camera
The app asks for camera access only to scan a document. Images from the camera stay on your device.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether the purchase is valid. We do not see your payment details or your Apple ID. Apple's own privacy policy applies to the App Store.
Network use
The only network use is the App Store: loading the price, buying and restoring a purchase. Scanning, marking and exporting make no network requests. If you tap the link to this policy or the Terms of Use, your browser opens our website, which is a plain page that we host without analytics or cookies.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold something, contact us at support@rheaapps.com and we will answer.
Changes
If the app's behavior changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date above before the new version is released.
