TrustScanner Terms of Use
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Rheaapps (Anoop Vijayan), India ("we", "us"). They apply to the TrustScanner app ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. How the app handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. What the app does
TrustScanner lets you scan paper documents with your camera, mark areas to black out, and create a PDF to share. It can also suggest places that look sensitive. The suggestions are an aid only (see section 5).
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the Apple Media Services Terms and the App Store usage rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or resell the app, or remove notices from it, except where the law gives you that right.
3. Free documents and purchase
- A limited number of documents are free. A document counts when you share or save its PDF.
- After that, a one-time purchase ("unlock") removes the limit. The price is shown in the App Store before you buy.
- Payment, refunds and restoring purchases are handled by Apple under its terms. We cannot refund a purchase ourselves. You can use Restore in the app on a device with the same Apple ID.
- Features, limits and prices may change for future purchases. We will not remove an unlock you have already bought for the version you have.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- the documents you scan, and for having the right to scan, copy, mark and share them;
- deciding what to cover, what to leave visible and who receives the PDF;
- following the laws and agreements that apply to your documents (for example confidentiality, data protection, employment and copyright rules);
- keeping your device secure.
Do not use the app to break the law, to forge or alter documents in order to deceive anyone, or to infringe other people's rights.
5. Redaction is not guaranteed
- The app covers only the areas you mark or accept. Anything else stays visible exactly as scanned.
- The suggestions can miss information, mislabel it or mark the wrong place. They do not understand your document, the recipient or the law.
- Marks are burned into the pixels of the exported PDF, so the covered area cannot be recovered from that file. This does not apply to areas left visible, to the original document, or to copies you keep elsewhere.
- Review every page at full size before you share. You are responsible for that check.
6. Sharing
When you tap Share, the PDF is handed to the iOS share sheet and you choose where it goes. The recipient controls it from then on. We cannot see, recall, delete or restrict it, and we are not responsible for what any recipient or service does with it. Their own terms apply.
7. No professional advice
The app is a general-purpose tool. It does not give legal, tax, financial or compliance advice, and it does not decide whether you may or must disclose, redact or withhold any information.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app running, but it is provided for use on your device and may contain errors, may not work on every device or iOS version, and may change or stop being offered. We may update the app, and may update these terms for future use of the app; if the changes are significant we will say so in the app or on the store page.
9. Warranty
To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it is error free, that it meets your particular needs, or that it finds all sensitive information. This does not affect any rights you have by law that cannot be excluded, including statutory consumer rights if you are a consumer.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, for gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under mandatory product liability rules, or for fraud.
- Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or for loss that results from information you left visible, from your choice of recipient, or from what a recipient does with the PDF.
- For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of an obligation that is essential to the purpose of this agreement, and then only for loss that was foreseeable and typical for this kind of app.
- Where the law allows us to cap liability, our total liability for one claim is limited to the price you paid for the app.
11. Apple
This section applies because you get the app through the App Store.
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to meet a legal warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price as the law requires. Apple has no other warranty duty for the app.
- We, not Apple, handle any claim about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet legal requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for the claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a US embargo or listed as a prohibited party.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and after you accept them Apple may enforce them against you.
- You must also follow the terms of any services you use with the app.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if you seriously breach these terms. Sections that by their nature continue (for example 4 to 7, 9, 10 and 13) continue after that.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of India, without its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live. The courts of India have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to sue or be sued in your home country.
14. General
If part of these terms is not valid, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right, we have not given it up. These terms are the whole agreement about the app between you and us. We may transfer our rights under them to another party that takes over the app.
